Vienna City Marathon

Mach Dich bereit für Sternstunden und Stars. Starte beim Vienna City Marathon im klassischen Wien, wo Eliud Kipchoge als erster Mensch einen Marathon in unter zwei Stunden gelaufen ist. Wir freuen uns auf Dich am 18. und 19. April 2020!

Dein Marathon-Lauf wird hier zum Sightseeing mit Freunden. Die Strecke führt zu vielen kulturellen, historischen und modernen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt. Du erlebst die Hochhäuser der Donau-City mit dem Sitz der Vereinten Nationen, das Riesenrad, die Staatsoper und Schloss Schönbrunn. Ein Herzstück des VCM ist die legendäre Prater Hauptallee: eine 4,3 km lange, völlig flache Gerade. Hier war der Schauplatz für den ersten 1:59-Marathon der Sportgeschichte.

Der VCM bietet an zwei Tagen Läufe und Events für die ganze Familie. Ein Marathon, ein Halbmarathon und ein Staffelmarathon für Teams zu vier Personen führen am 19. April zeitgleich durch die Stadt. Am Tag davor stehen der Vienna 10K, der Vienna 5K, der VCM Kinderlauf und der Coca-Cola Inclusion Run im Blickpunkt.

Das Ziel liegt für alle Laufbewerbe im Herzen der Stadt auf der Ringstraße zwischen Burgtheater und Rathausplatz. Alle Finisher erhalten hier ihre Medaille in Form eines Sternes. Jedem Marathon-Star sein Marathon-Star.

Get ready for great moments and stars. Start at the Vienna City Marathon in classic Vienna, where Eliud Kipchoge was the first person to run a marathon in under two hours. We look forward to seeing you on 18 and 19 April 2020!

Your marathon run will be a sightseeing tour with friends. The route leads to many cultural, historical and modern sights of the city. You will experience the skyscrapers of the Donau-City with the seat of the United Nations (UN), the Ferris wheel, the State Opera and Schönbrunn Palace. A heart of the VCM is the legendary Prater Hauptallee: a 4.3 km long, completely flat straight. This was the place of the first 1:59 marathon in sporting history.

The VCM offers runs and events for the whole family on two days. A marathon, a half-marathon and a relay marathon for teams of four run simultaneously through the city on April 19. The day before, the Vienna 10K, the Vienna 5K, the VCM Children's Run and the Coca-Cola Inclusion Run will be in the spotlight.

The finish for all running events is in the heart of the city on the Ringstraße between Burgtheater and Rathausplatz. All finishers will receive their medal in the form of a star here. Every marathon star receives his or her marathon star.
