High-tech in medical Applications
‘Medical Engineering and Analytics’ is a master´s degree study program with the emphasis on the current needs in medical applications. This is particularly the use of artificial intelligence and, as a result of the demographic change, assistive technologies. The program offers great flexibility in combining studies and life. Besides the option to study work-friendly, it also provides the option to study HyFlex, in which all courses can be done online, and several courses can even be taken asynchronously, at one´s own schedule.
ASPECTS OF MEDICAL ENGINEERING AND ANALYTICS
AI supports the processes of evaluation of medical data and images and of assessing a diagnosis already nowadays, and in the future, it may also affect many other areas that we are not even aware of yet. The aging of the population is another important point shaping the future of our healthcare system and leads to vast developments and increased use of assistive technologies.
With the main focus on these current trends, the master’s degree program in Medical Engineering and Analytics encompasses several lectures about deep learning and clinical data analysis, 3D printing and robotics, and Active and Assisted Living. Additional to theoretical input, hands-on training in specialized laboratories and work on projects represent other core elements of the program. Small groups, personal support and mentoring, and an open-door policy for all professors are our top priority.
Since internationalization is an important aspect of modern education, students are encouraged to go for an internship abroad and supported in joint projects with our research partners. Additionally, we also provide the possibility for Study & Work where we assist our students in getting a part-time job at one of our industrial partners.
The Master degree study program “Medical Engineering and Analytics” enables graduates to successfully face the challenges in the healthcare sector. Equipped with technical and medical knowledge they are sought-after by a wide variety of potential employers in the health care industry. The program also prepares them for upcoming social issues like Active and Assisted Living (AAL) and Instrumental Activities of daily Living (iADL), which become more and more important as we are moving towards an aging society.
Students benefit from practical trainings in dedicated laboratories and work there in small groups. Two areas of specialization allow them to further deepen their interests: Medical Engineering and Image Processing or Health Informatics can be chosen over the course of the degree program. Thanks to strong cooperation with the Health Care sector, the program is able to invite professionals and experts as guest lecturers.
